Patna: The two-day Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad began in Patna on October 17. 83 delegates from across the country are representing all the states in this meeting. The CWC meeting was inaugurated by National President Prof. Chhaganbhai Patel, National General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi and National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan. ABVP will review its work and plan the upcoming protests and programs in this meeting.

During his inaugural speech, National President Prof. Chhaganbhai Patel, referring to the present scenario of the country, said that “the revocation of Article 370 in Kashmir has increased opportunities for the youth and has enabled new dimensions. This has made the terrorists furious who are targeting innocent teachers and are killing selective citizens. The incident of killing of a scheduled caste person at Delhi’s Singhu border is also heart-wrenching.”

Referring to the educational scenario of the country, National General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi said, “Madness of 100 percent marks in Delhi University admissions raises a big question on the education system. ABVP is also agitating to open up all campuses in all states of the country immediately. When schools can be reopened, colleges should also reopen immediately to maintain the standard of education. The constitution of the Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) is welcome-worthy and all disciplines should be included in its ambit. National Research Foundation (NRF) should also adopt a holistic approach to encourage research in all disciplines. ABVP has also constituted committees in all states for the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. ABVP has also been agitating for more than a month against the widespread scam in Rajasthan’s REIT, RAS, SI and other competitive examinations.”
