New Delhi : With cases of Love Jihad or Lust Jihad increasing across the country, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) released a list of more than 400 cases of Love Jihad and demanded a strict central anti-conversion law. It also announced its plans to conduct nationwide programs.

Speaking about the rising Love Jihad cases, VHP Joint General Secretary Dr Surendra Jain said, “there is a strong need for a strong central law to prevent love jihad and illegal conversions, which create social discontent and threats to national security.”

He said that the Kerala High Court in 2010 had described “love jihad as the most gruesome form of religious conversion”. He added, “This cannot be avoided by calling it cruelty by some Jihadi youths with perverted mentality. Behind this is the inspiration of Mullah- Maulvi and fundamentalist Muslim leaders and the protection of the Tukde Tukde gang.

Further, he said, “because of the terrorist nexus of illegal conversion and love jihad and its international nature, it cannot be stopped from enacting laws only in some states. For this, a nationwide resolution is necessary, which will be expressed only through a strong national law. Its worst form has come to the fore in the recent Shraddha murder case.”

“The Church of Kerala and Karnataka describes 10,000 Christian girls as victims of love jihad, while 2000 girls have gone missing in Hyderabad, about which the High Court is seeking an explanation from the state government. Peace-loving states like Himachal and Ladakh are also moving towards anger after being troubled by love jihad. In Kerala, the Church has also alleged that their girls are being trapped and sent to Syria and Afghanistan,” he added.
According to the VHP, it received over 13,000 calls. “Of these, 6,285 were only for information, 5,605 were resolved, and 9,783 inquired about joining the Bajrang Dal,” Jain said.

According to the VHP leader, the organisation will also launch a nationwide public awareness campaign against religious conversion. The Bajrang Dal will hold “Shaurya Yatras” in each block from December 1 to 10, and the VHP will launch “Dharma Raksha Abhiyan” from December 21 to December 31. “A deterrent force will be created through the Durga Vahini (VHP’s women’s wing) to spread awareness among girls,” the leader added.
Jain also warned “Mullah Maulvis and radical Muslim leaders to keep both “their tongues and their youths” in control. Muslim society in India has more rights than Hindus for development, but trying to provoke every issue will push Muslim society on the suicidal path of destruction, not development. The kind of reaction love jihad, hatred, lust and violence had created, its experiences are coming all over the world.”
