Senior Swayamsevak Kothapally Ghanshyamala Prasadji Passed Away In Vishakapatnam

Senior RSS Swayamsevak Sri Kothapally Ghanshyam Prasad ji passed away at the age of 85 in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday, and his final rites were concluded yesterday at his ancestral village Rajamahendravaram.

He held various responsibilities in Sangh, and mostly known for writing many sangh songs in Telugu which are still sung by swayamsevaks in both the states. Prasad ji retired as a lecturer from SBKR College, Amalapuram.

In 1975, Prasad ji was arrested during emergency and he was in jail for 19 months. His collegues recalled that many patriotic songs written by him inspired several people and they were popular on radio in those days.

He also penned a book titled as “Temples-Scientific “. He also served as Sankrutha Bharati All India vice president.

Prasad ji also translated RSS second Sarsanghachalak M.S Golwalkars’s Bunch of Thoughts book into Telugu as “Panchajanyam”.

He is survived by wife and two sons.
