Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists on Monday (31-Jan-2017) staged a dharna in front of the Mahankali police station demanding action against a pastor who was allegedly distributing Bibles on RP Road.

VHP activists led by State president JB Prakash staged a dharna in front of the police station. Prakash said the police had failed to register a case against KA Swamy while he was distributing Bibles on Tank Bund. On January 21, one G Srinath had allegedly attacked Swamy and his accomplice John Vinay Kumar when they were found carrying the Bibles. A case was registered against Srinath at Gandhinagar police station.

VHP activists had lodged a complaint with the police on alleging that the pastor was propagating conversions.

“Srinath caught him and following the law of the land, handed him over to police. However, a case was registered against Srinath,” said Prakash.

He demanded that the police register a case under Section 120 B, 420, 153A and 285 A against the pastor. The activists were detained by the police and later let off.
