Rushipeetham Charitable Trust & Itihasa Sankalana Samithi & Chetana Sravanthi jointly organized the book release event ”Parathanthram pai swatantra poratam’
in the evening on 26th August 2023 at Jagjivan Ram Hall, Kothapet, Hyderabad.
Brahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma was the chief guest during the event. Sri Bharat Kumar, and Sri Vedula Narasimham from Itihasa Sankalana Samithi were the special guests. Sri BS Sarma, Sri Veerender and other dignitaries were present.
Sri Rampalli Mallikharjun in his opening remarks said the book consists of 16 articles published in the Rushipeetham magazine in the year 2017. After the defeat in 1857 First War of Independence, Indian society turned inwards, the British rulers, as part of a well- planned strategy, spun many false narratives to undermine India’s own knowledge systems, history, traditions and culture. We need to know what actually happened in terms of Bharatiya cultural revival and transformation during that period, which sowed the seeds for freedom and revival. A few articles in the book focus on not only political movements of that period but also the various efforts that went into creating a new society.
The book ‘Parathanthram pai swatantra poratam’ was formally launched by Brahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma and other dignitaries on the stage. A few contributors in the book including Sri Valliswar, Sri Vijaya Saradhi, Sri Vedula Narasimham, Sri BS Sarma, Sri Surender, Smt Devika Rani who were present during the event received the book from the hands of Brahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma.
Sri Bharat Kumar in his address stated that India’s noble history includes several great revolutionaries and leaders who were committed to India’s freedom and have made the ultimate sacrifice of their lives in the nation’s cause. It’s only in Bharat that hundreds of patriotic youth always came forward to sacrifice their lives, no other country was witness to such history. Nation’s partition occurred along with the bloodiest Holocaust and in most tragic circumstances when trains’ arrived in Amritsar filled with the bodies of Hindus and Sikhs. 75 years after Independence, grand Srirama Janmabhumi Mandir is being built in the amrit-kal period that PM Modi announced. We should be proud to live for the country, we should learn to be patriotic and learn to live in the service of the nation. As Swami Vivekananda said, his love for the country turned to devotion after his return from America. Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya said that he should be cremated not in Kasi, but elsewhere, as he wants to be reborn in Bharat again. We aspire not to be a superpower, but a Viswaguru.
Brahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma in his keynote address said a great event is happening today in a simple manner, in the same August month of independence and after the success of Chandrayan. Infact, such events should be held with much more fanfare and should be telecast live so that people become aware. He said, that the Independence of India became inevitable, and several experts feel that only ‘transfer of power’ happened then. In the 90-year struggle for independence, thousands of great freedom fighters struggled for freedom. Swami Vivekananda and Maharshi Aurobindo were the true inspirations to the greatest icon Netaji Subhashchandra Bose, whose INA movement and battles were the main reason for Independence.
Unfortunately, we are in a phase where a politician recently said that Bharata Mata is an unparliamentary term. Vandematharam and Bharat Mata were the true clarion calls for the nation. Real Independence is when Bharateeyatha returns to Bharat, that’s the true spirit of Independence as Maharshi Aurobindo wished. He conceptualized Bharat Mata as a living entity. The Bharatiya Maharshis and Veda Rishis thought of Bhumi as mother/matha. Bharat mata is not a piece of property, but a living persona.
Bharat should strive for greatness in knowledge, prosperity and valor; represented by Saraswathi, Lakshmi and Parvathi, Bharat Mata is the epitome of Bharatiya Shakti. People who characterize it as Hindutva, don’t realize that it’s Bharatiyata. Today we need another Independence movement to attain Bharatiyata. Great terms like coexistence, tolerance, acceptance etc are natural and inherent to Sanathana Dharma. Rishis and Yogis like Maharshi Aurobindo, Kavyakantha Vasishta Ganapathi Muni – ‘bharata hitaya’ was his motto, and many such Rishis strived for the nation. Other religions are destroying temples in countries partitioned from India, present-day media is working only commercially and suffers from lack of values. People are reduced to selling their votes for cash, if we are not able to build a proper democracy and cash-free elections, amrit-kal would have no meaning. When such is the situation, if bodies like Election Commission don’t reform their ways to conduct elections, no amount of book publications would help. Our people need to know our heritage, culture and idealism. That’s why we need another freedom movement to gain Bharatiyata. Our ancient texts are not religious books, but our national heritage. Westerners who didn’t give even voting rights to women in their countries, created fake narratives that Indian women were suppressed. We need to work tirelessly to rebuild our nation. Clapping for the country is not enough, striving to work for the country should be our aspiration, and if we make efforts, Bhagwan will provide us the direction. We need to do what we can, whether small or big, to ensure safety of the nation from the fires that are being lit by enemies. We will receive Bhagwan Srirama’s blessings, if we strive as the squirrel did. We should see that Bharatiyata reigns in the future.
Brahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma was felicitated by Sri Bharat Kumar.
Sri Chakradhar proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to Brahmasri Shanmukha Sarma, Rishipeetham, Itihas Sankalan Samithi and Chetana Sravanthi. Large number of people attended the event.
