A derogatory audio regarding Hindus was posted by a Muslim fanatic on whatsapp sparked tension in Utnoor district. Hindus tried to lodge a complaint at the police station on Saturday, 6th May 2017. The case was not filed by the police under pressure.
Thereafter Hindu groups called for a protest and bandh call on Sunday. Some 700 people of VHP and Bajrang Dal gathered at the police station to stage protest. While they were returning from the PS, large a group of Muslims radicals started pelting stones and Hindus started retaliation. The police started teargas and in the process the CI,SI and few more policemen got injured.
Few persons were arrested. It is sad that once again the police and administration has fallen victim to appeasement and inaction by administration has escalated the issue.
