Saints seek central law for Ram Temple at Ayodhya

The Central Government should move a legislation in the Parliament to facilitate construction of grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya the birth place of Lord Rama, resolved the high level meeting of sants held here on 4 October.

President of shri Ram Janmabhumi NYas Mahant Nritya Gopal Das presided over the meeting attended prominently by Shankaracharyas and Mahamandleswars and Vishwa Hindu Parishad office bearers at VHP’s R K Puram office.

The sants asked the Modi government to bring a legislation in the Parliament to facilitate the construction of a grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya as promised by them before the 2014 elections.

Shankaracharya Vasudevanandji Maharaj and Swami Vishwesh Tirthji Maharaj asked the Modi government to convene a special joint session of the Parliament if necessary to make the law for handing over the land to the Hindus so that a grand temple could be built.

Adopting a strong posture Ramanandacharya Swami Hansdevachary ji Mahraj warned that is anyone tried to oppose this bill, he will be thrown out. All dharmacharyas including Yugpurush Parmanandji Maharaj, Dr Ram Vilas Vedantiji, Chidanand Puri (Kerala), Swami Chinmayanandji, and Swami Akhileshwaranandji Maharaj besides all the Jagatgurus and Mahamandaleshwars supported the proposal for a parliamentary law for the temple.

A delegation of the sants led by Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Maharaj called on the President seeking directions from him to the government for framing of a law for Ram Temple. The memorandum submitted to President Ram Nath Kovind urged him to “direct his government to pave the way for construction of Ram Temple on Ramjanmabhumi by making a law by the parliament. This seems to be the only viable solution to the problem.”

The sants passed a resolution in the meeting which announced a massive awareness campaign that would have following programs:

  1. At the state level the delegations of Ram Bhakts will meet the Governors in the month of October and submit a memorandum to them urging them to convey their demand for a central law for construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
  2. In November massive rallies will be held in each parliamentary constituency. The people of these constituencies will meet the MPs with sants and insist upon them to make a law in the parliament to facilitate the construction of the temple.
  3. Religious ‘anushthan’ will be held in places of worship, mathm mandirs, Gurudwara, Sthankas and in houses from December 18 to 26 throughout the country with a prayer for Ram Temple.
  4. A delegation of revered sants will meet the Prime Minister and urge him to respect the feelings of crores of Ram Bhakts and sants on the issue of Ram Temple.

The delegation of sants that called on President Ram Nath Kovind included Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Shri Hansdevacharyaji Maharaj, Haridwar, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Sri Swami Vishokanand Bhartiji Maharaj, Haridwar, Mahamandaleshwar Yug Purush Shri Swami Parmanand Giriji Maharaj, Haridwar, Mahamandaleshwar Vishweshwaranandji Maharaj, Mumbai, Agradevacharya Shri Raghavacharyaji Maharaj, Sikar, Rajasthan, Shri Swami Chinmayanand Saraswatiji Maharaj, Haridwar, Shri Swami Rameshwardas ShriVaishnnav ji Maharaj, Rishikesh, Swami Parmatmanandji Mharaj Rajkot, VHP Working President Alok Kumar, Vice President Champatrai and Jiveshwar Mishraand Joint General Secretary DrSurendra Kumar Jain.
