Instead of focusing on the governance then United Progressive Alliance (UPA) was busy in searching ways to trap Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh  SarSanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat’s name to support the dubious claims of  ‘Hindu terror’ coined by Congress leaders in an alleged terrorist case.

According the TimesNow report, then home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and top brass of Congress party in the last few months of UPA rule, pressured the National Investigative Agency (NIA) personal to secure Bhagwat’s custody for interrogation by linking the aftermath of extremist violence in Ajmer and Malegaon blast.

The media also stated that Shinde was trying to link Bhagwat ‘s name to fit into the contents of Swami Aseemanand’s interview given to Caravan, a current affairs magazine, when he was serving jail term at Panchkula jail for alleged violence in Ajmer Blast case.

While building the pressure from UPA, the NIA chief Sharad Kumar, rejected to follow the UPA narrative blindly to implicate Bhagwat, instead, he requested for forensic evaluation of the interview. Such developing events gave some time space, by then general elections followed resulting the NIA to put halt to the followup of as per Congress leader, subsequently remaining this alleged conspiracy on notes of communication, which is said to be obtained by TimesNow.

Following this revelation, Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad speaking to Times Now on such report said, “Government will have to take a view on making this correspondence public but I agree that after this expose, this entire matter should come out in public domain.”
