Shilpa Jain born in a Jain family and a resident of Guntur town – Andhra Pradesh was alleged to be forcefully converted to Islam by Khaja Khan in a Mosque at undisclosed location. Shilpa’s name after converting to Islam is Fatima Khan. Khaja Khan is a worker at goldsmith shop, he lured her with false promises and before performing the Nikah (Islamic marriage) he converted her religion from Jain to Islam.
Shilpa’s sister Dimple Jain, against all odds and losing hope to save her sister, lodged a complaint with the AP police. Based on Dimple Jain’s complaint Guntur Urban Lalapet police station registered an FIR under the IPC 363, 506, 34 sections against Khaja Khan and 14 others who alleged are conduit to converting a Jain girl to Islam.
Shilpa’s sister Dimple Jain also confirmed to police that she received phone calls from local Muslim goons who threatened to eliminate her family and sell her sister Shilpa Jain into prostitution in Dubai, if she filed a complaint with police.
Both the sister’s lost their father in childhood and were brought up by their uncle at nearby Bramhamgaari temple in Guntur city.
