Amit Shah inaugurates three-day Sahkar Bharati national convention

Lucknow, Dec 17: Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah today inaugurated the 7th three-day National Convention of Sahkar Bharati here today evening with an emphasis on making the cooperative movement more transparent in every aspect to create better impact on economy and improve the living standard of the people.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present at the inaugural session as guest of honor. Besides, National General Secretary Dr. Uday Joshi, Union MoS Cooperative B L Verma, UP Cooperative Minister Mukut Bihari Verma, National President Ramesh Vaidya, former Union Minister and President of Reception Committee Santosh Gangwar, UP State President Ramashankar Jaiswal and General Secretary Dr. pravin Singh Jadaun were prominently present at the function.

After lighting the traditional lamp Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries released the souvenir “Sahkar Sugandh” on this occasion.

Congratulating Sahkar Bharati for giving him a chance to recall his association with the organization from the days of late Sri Lakshmanrao Inamdar. The main objective of Sahkar Bharati is to keep the flame of cooperative alive in the cooperative sector. He asked them to work for “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.

Sahkar Bharati activists are active in 600 districts of 27 provinces and nearly 3000 of them are participating in this convention. This massive participation reflects the strength and expanse of the organization, Shah said. He said that the demand for creating cooperative ministry was pending for long and finally during the NDA II Prime Minister Narendra Modi created this ministry and gave its charge to me, thus making me the first cooperative minister of the country, he added. Describing this responsibility not as a post or authority but a journey to accomplish the mission Shah said that he is aware of the responsibility of this post.

Lijjat Papad, Amul Milk, IFFCO are some of the success stories of cooperative sector which are used by the entire country, Shah said adding that the cooperative sector has 35% share in fertilizer distribution, 25% in fertilizer production, 31% in sugar production, 20% in milk production, 13% in wheat, ands 20% in paddy production. Cooperative is one such way to help small and marginal people to increase their income. It is possible through cooperative to take the benefit of economic development to the every single individual, Shah said.
He advised for bringing more transparency in the cooperative sector for elections, recruitment and audit to make the movement better. Modi government is committed to bring new reforms and policies. Every bank will be connected with district, state and with NABARD; suggestions from public will also be invited, he said.

Shah further said that there was a need to bring radical changes in training in cooperative sector. The cooperative sector should take the initiative to popularize organic farming for the benefit of farmers. Cooperative is one such sector that can provide employment to masses.

For spreading the wings of the organization he urged the workers to come with solutions to the problems and spread the fragrance of the organization in various spheres of public life. We can work in tandem with state governments for implementing some good suggestions, he added.

Referring to inauguration of Kashi Vishwanth Corridor by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah exhorted the activists to visit Kashi with families and have first had experience of the new look of the temple premises. Modi performed the pujan at Sri Ramjanma Bhumi when the NDA government was formed second time in succession. UP is the growth engine of the country and Yogi Government was working towards all round development besides establishing peace by controlling the mafia.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that cooperative is the soul of India which is ideally manifested in organization of yagyas at village level where a village level committee plans for the yagya and each villager cooperates with his or her capacity to make it successful. There is no discrimination of any kind and unity and integrity was exhibited.

Referring to Corona Pandemic, Yogi Adityanath said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi India has successfully defeated the corona virus and took strides in making India ‘Atmanirbhar”. He hoped that this national convention will instill a new vigor and energy among the members of Sahkar Bharati.

Sahkar Bharati General Secretary Dr. Uday Joshi said that in near future we need to concentrate on health cooperatives. Other speakers also expressed their views on this occasion.
