India strongly hit back at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), a global Islamic countries organisation, for raking up the Kashmir issue at the United Nations, by stating OIC has no locus standi to comment on internal affairs of India.

In response to the statement made by Pakistan on behalf of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation, India exercising its Right of Reply said “the OIC in its statement contains factually incorrect and misleading references to the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

India asserted “Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India.”

Sumit Seth, First Secretary at India’s Permanent mission to the UN in Geneva, in the statement said , “India outrightly rejects all such reference. We strongly advise the OIC to refrain from making such references in future.”

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is an inter-governmental organization with a membership of 57 Islamic states.
