The State is witnessing emotional demonstrations and protests against lyricist Vairamuthu for his derogatory remarks on Andal.

Shri Vaidyanathan met Sri Satagopa Ramanuja Jeeyar, the head of Vaishnavite Manavala Mamuni Mutt along with Shri P M Nagarajan, Zonal President (South) of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, (VHP), Swami Kamalaathmanada of Ramakrishna Mutt at Andal temple.

Sri Satagopa Ramanuja Jeeyar blessed the Editor with prasadam.  The Jeeyar informed media that the Dharma Yudh will continue till the lyricist apologize before the deity.

Earlier, the Tamil Daily Dinamani has carried out the controversial speech of Tamil lyricist Vairamuthu in which he made the remark citing a book: “Andal was herself a Devadasi who lived and died in the Srirangam Temple.”

Following such statements, several Hindu organizations across the country and in abroad expressed their anger. This also led Manavaala Jeyar Swamiji to sit on an indefinite fast till they apologize.

In its appeal, RSS said to respect the feelings of crores of Hindus and tender apology. This is the demand of spiritual leaders, political leaders and millions of people worldwide.
