In yet another shocking incident from Telangana, the Hanuman deity in Sri Sivalingeswara temple in Karimabad area of Warangal district was vandalized and desecrated on 14 March 2020.
On Saturday morning, devotees who went to offer prayers in the temple were shocked to discover the damaged Sri Hanuman deity. The residents and devotees registered an FIR under Section 103 at the local Police station. Local Hindus and activists of Bajrang dal conducted a rasta roko and demanded with state government and police to take strict action against the culprits.
It has been noticed that in the recent past, Telangana state is witnessing a series of incidents against Hindus.
On November 1, 2018, the Saibaba temple priest Sri Satyanarana was murdered by Syed Sadiq Hussian.
On 6 September, 2019, a mob of around 70 Muslims attacked women performing puja and vandalised the Ganesh pandal at LB Nagar in Warangal.
On Jan 12, 2020, a mob of around 400-500 Muslims attacked on the Hindu colony completely destroyed and burnt their homes in Bhainsa of Nizamabad district. The state govt hasn’t acted on any of the culprits who are acting against Hindus and Hindu temples.
