Three Rohingyas, who managed to get key identity documents like passport, Aadhaar and PAN cards issued on their names and illegally staying in Hyderabad, were arrested by police at Bismillah Colony in Balapur on Thursday. Three others, including another Rohingya Muslim, are on the run.

Apart from seizing the fake Aadhaar and PAN cards, police also recovered bank accounts, birth certificates and driving licences of the accused from their house. The accused have been identified as Mohammed Younus, 25, Saleema Begum, 48, and Mohammed Naseem, 49, who belong to Myanmar. Mohammed Ismail, a Rohingya Muslim, Kathija and Mohammed Khaliq, an employee at Crescent School, who are associates of the accused, are absconding.

Police said the three Rohingyas along with Ismail got in touch with Kathija and Khaliq and made a fake bonafide study certificate. With the help of the bonafide certificate, the four Rohingyas gave a false declaration before government officials by hiding their identity. They later made fresh moves and obtained fake identity documents. “Younus even managed to obtain a passport using the false documents,” said a police official.
