Indian Air Force Officer Sukharam Jaat committed suicide in Makrana, Rajasthan. His family has accused Saddam Hussein (Sukharam’s friend), and his father Mohammad Saeed who was a head constable posted at Makrana police station, of pressuring him to convert to Islam for a long time.

Notably, 24-year-old Sukharam Bhinchar, a resident of Midian village was posted in the Air Force in Hyderabad. He committed suicide by hanging himself in a room. This was found by his family who took his body to a nearby police station and started protesting. After the police assured them of investigating the matter, they took his body to perform final rites.

According to Sukharam’s father, Saddam and his son were friends for a long time. Both of them had studied together in Kuchaman. Sukharam was selected in the Air Force in 2017. He alleged that Saddam was extorting money from Sukharam when he used to come to his village on holidays since 2020.

Later on, Saddam’s father allegedly hatched a conspiracy and threatened to file a false rape complaint against him. The family claimed that Sukharam was threatened to either convert to Islam or face jail time in a fake rape case.

Choosing not to convert, Sukharam reportedly took his own life. The local authorities are investigating the case, and no official statements have been released yet.
