Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services has donated an ambulance vehicle to Seva Bharathi, Telangana on 24th June 2019 at Bharat Vikas Parishad at Kukatpally in Hyderabad.
Seva Bharathi, Telangana in partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited organized this event under Corporate Social Responsibility. The event was organized to handover Mahindra Bolero Plus Ambulance to Seva Bharathi, Telangana.
Shri Subrahmanyam Chivukula, Secretary of Seva Bharathi welcomed the gathering.
The event was started with lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri Anuj Mehra, Managing Director of Mahindra Rural Housing Finance Limited and other dignitaries of the company and Seva Bharathi.
Shri Rama Murthy Prabhala, General Secretary, Seva Bharathi addressed the gathering. He briefed about various activities taken up by Seva Bharathi. He recalled the active participation of Shri Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, for social causes and as a leading inspiration from the corporate world.
He told the gathering about Kishori Vikas scheme, through which Seva Bharathi conducts after school activities for poor and needy in urban slums for girls and abhyasika for boys. By this, a remarkable improvement in the attendance of students overall performance in studies and personality development in government schools was noticed. This caters to 5000 students.
Shri Rama Murthy added that the Mobile Medical Van serves the poor and needy in Urban Slums and nearby villages. The service through medical camps by Seva Bharathi is to diagnose medical needs of patients and to direct them for any advanced treatment, surgeries to Government or other hospitals. He said that the Seva Bharathi has Help Desks in noted government hospitals in Hyderabad and that its volunteers assist patients in reaching the specific wards and treatment.
In his address, Shri Anuj Mehra, MD, Mahindra Rural Housing Finance Limited gave an overview about the Mahindra Group of companies and initiatives and projects implemented under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for betterment of society, communities, and environment.
He threw light on the thrust areas of the CSR of Mahindra Finance :
Education :
Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly and the differently abled and livelihood enhancement projects. Their main concentration is on funding municipal schools.
Health :
Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting health care including preventive health care and sanitation and making available safe drinking water. He said they concentrate to help the needy during natural calamities.
Environment :
Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water. Their concentration was on Tree Plantation.
Sri Mehra also said their group puts serious efforts in identifying proper partners for their CSR activities. He gave a call to employees of the Mahindra Finance to closely work with a serious dialogue to expand the association with Seva Bharathi to greater heights and for sustained partnership. Normally, they do not donate to the same organization twice, but having seen the work of Seva Bharathi, Andhra Pradesh, they had decided to extend the partnership with Seva Bharathi, Telangana also and look forward for a long term association.
After the address by few more speakers from Seva Bharathi and Mahindra Finance, the key of the ambulance was handed over by Shri Anuj Mehra to Shri Athma Lingam, Seva Bharathi, who conducts the medical camps in association with many noted doctors who volunteer by taking out their precious time for the good cause.

The gathering reached the ground floor where after conducting brief pooja of the ambulance, it was handed over to Seva Bharathi.
