RSS initiative in Tamil Nadu makes one crematorium for all castes of the Hindus

The selfless initiative taken by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) made a crematorium for all castes of Hindus in Tamil Nadu. The crematorium called Nandavanam was located in between the Lord Sri Kasilingeswarar Temple and River Bhavani at Mettupalayam near Coimbatore city that is similar to the setup of Kasi on the banks of River Ganga.

After realising the pathetic condition of the grave yard, the workers of the RSS came forward to renovate Nandavanam with the help of as many as 36 community leaders including community leaders from the Scheduled Castes (SC). With in no time, a good ghat, Lord Shiva temple with the Shiva Linga found in the River Bhavani, Goshala, meditation hall and a crematorium with all modern facilities were constructed in the premises of Nandavanam. The Committee of Nandanam also maintaining organic fertiliser unit which have been running with the waste available and an ambulance to serve the people residing in the surroundings.

Thousands of people from as many as 50 surrounding villages have been performing last rites to their departed dear ones amid the chanting of Brahmin purohits without any caste discrimination. According to the authorities of the Nandavanam, during the devastation of Corona pandemic period, last rites to as many as 25 departed souls were performed per day.

Nandanam has been sending a loud message of “One smashanam for all castes of Hindus” across the world for the last 20 years which reverberates forever.
