Vidya Bharti’s schools set new records in Uttarakhand Board examinations
Schools managed by Vidya Bharti created a new record with their performance in class 10th and 12th board examinations conducted by Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE). In the class12th results declared by the board this Tuesday, all the top three ranks have gone to the students of schools attached to Vidya Bharti.
11 out of the 13 students who have made their way to the top 10 merit ranks for class 12th, belong to Saraswati Vidya Mandirs operated by Vidya Bharti. Class 10th results have been equally stellar with 7 out of the top 12 performers belonging to Vidya Bharti schools.
Vidya Bharti, a national organisation, dedicated to education, learning and culture, operates around 652 schools in Uttarakhand out of which approximately 100 are intermediate. Approximately 1.25 Lakh students are currently enrolled in these schools.
Dr Vijay Pal Singh, Inspector for Vidya Bharti schools in the state, informed that the top five ranks in the class 12th results for 2017 have been bagged by students from Vidya Bharti operated schools. The first rank has gone to Aditya Ghidiyal from SVM Ganganali (Srinagar), second rank to Akashdeep Vatsal from SVM Jaspur, while the third rank has gone to Medha from SVM Ranipur (Haridwar).
A noteworthy fact here is that out of the 86 students who have made to the merit list of top 25 ranks, 50 belong to the Vidya Bharti operated institutions. Thus, approximately 60% of the meritorious students belong to Vidya Bharti institutions. This is exceptional given the fact that out of the 1,31,190 students that have appeared in the examinations, only 6,577 belonged to Vidya Bharti institutions which is merely 5% of the total number of students. This proves and exhibits the quality of education, able guidance and dedication of teachers of these schools.
Dr Vijay Pal Singh added that Vidya Bharti is extensively working for past many years, to make quality education available for the remote rural areas of the emerging new state of Uttarakhand. Currently Vidya Bharti, through its three branches, namely “Shishu Shiksha Samiti”, “Jan Shiksha Samiti” and “Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti” is operating around 652 schools in all 13 administrative districts of Gadhwal and Kumaon regions. Out of these 514 are primary while 138 are intermediate level schools. Class 10th result for these schools this year was 95.83% while for class 12th it was 89.64%. Dr Vijay Pal Singh added that Vidya Bharti aims not only for academic excellence but also for imparting nationalistic and cultural values to students.
