News become viral on Social media that two boys were beaten up in Wakadi village of Jamner tahsil of district Jalgaon, Maharashtra by upper castes. Incident happened on afternoon of June 10, 2018.
Both the boys are from Scheduled caste community.
But, as per the police reports, the main accused (Ishwar Joshi) and his aide are from Nomadic Tribes. Joshi and not Brahmins, as the media portrayed.
The boys were swimming naked in the well owned by accused. People use the water from same well for drinking.  The boys were warned many times not to swim. Even their parents were aware of this.  This time, accused and his aide, caught them swimming naked, asked them to come out, beat them and then drove them off.
The boys then wore their clothes put besides the well and strode away.
They were already naked when they came out of the well. They were neither stripped off nor paraded. The accused captured a video clip of this and shared on WhatsApp.
Some activists, asked the parents of the victims to file complaint after watching the clip.
Accused were booked under section 323, 504 and 506 along with Atrocities Prevention Act and POSCO. The accused have been arrested.
This entire incident has no relation with racial discrimination or anti Dalit activity and no ‘so called upper caste’ person involved in this.
