Dr. Mohanji Bhagwat , the Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, while speaking of the basic principles of samarasta said that while we pursue our own individual well being, we must attend to the well being of the needy too. Bharat is not identified by any particular sect or doctrine. Our identity is our ancient culture. If we remember this , there is no force in the world that can divide our society.
Sarsanghchalak addressed swayamsevaks and citizens at Vijnan Mahavidyalaya grounds on the occasion of Makara Sankranti. As nature expresses its benevolence for the manifold forms of existence, so too individual human beings must express their innate empathy for the disadvantaged. It should become our innate nature to give to the needy. Children must be taught to give to the needy.
Today different sects are projecting their own sects as superior, which is incorrect and an unacceptable thought. Bharat has multiplicity of jaatis, languages and deities. But this is not how we identify ourselves. For forty thousand years, we have identified ourselves by our culture and our ancestors.
Dr. Mohanji Bhagwat said, that the tribal communities of Bharat are our own . It is the responsibility of our society to care for these communities and grow together. He alerted us to the reality that so long as we maintained our national identity no one was able to subdue us. But whenever we divided ourselves on the basis of sect and language, then our nation was divided and enslaved by foreigners.
We must take pride in the legacies of our ancestors. Politics of power divides us, but society and culture integrate us. For thousands of years, the vast land mass from Afghanistan to Burma, from the slopes of Tibet to the southern shores of Sri Lanka share the same ancestry. Our DNA is one. This fact unites us. But today we have forgotten this. We have forgotten our relationship with each other. We are at each others’ necks. We forget that we are all of one family and a common ancestry.
Shri. Mohan Sinha Tekam ji , Pradesh Upaadhyaksh of the Sarva Adivasi Samaj, presided over the meeting. In his brief address, recalling Rani Durgavati, he said that the tribal communities have always stood firm and sacrificed everything for the well being of the nation. But today they have been neglected and oppressed. Consequently these innocent people are being exploited and misled by anti national forces. But the attempts to mislead these communities will fail.
