SwachhBharat held at 64 public places in Hyderabad by Seva Bharati Telangana

Seva Bharati Telangana has organised a massive cleaning activity at 64 public places in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad on 2nd October, 2018, marking Gandhi Jayanthi. This huge SwachhBharat program was supported by State Bank of India, leading Public Sector Bank, as a part of their CSR initiative.

In this drive, nearly 30,000 people from all walks of life participated. Volunteers of Seva Bharati and RSS played major role,  along with 600 SBI employees in cleaning major public places like Osmania hospital, Gandhi hospital, Fever hospital, Koti Maternity hospital, Koti ENT Hospital, King Koti Hospital, local area hospitals, Lalapet Railway hospital, Secunderbad, Kachiguda and Nampally railway stations, JBS, MGBS bus stands and several areas in the city. The railway officials and ground staff too supported this activity.

The SBI team was led by their General Managers, Mr. V. Ramesh and Mr. U. N. N. Maiya.  All senior officials of SBI were present and participated personally on ground. Along with this activity, the bankers have launched Yono service, a unique zero balance account, that has feature of instant account opening process with only PAN and Aadhaar without any paper work.

The Chief Guests at Secunderabad Railway Station are Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Lok Sabha MP from Secunderabad and the General Manager of South Central Railway Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav. Shri Kishan Reddy,  MLA from Amberpet lined at Kacheguda Railway Station.

The idea of SwachhBharat – Arogya Bharat was scheduled 2 months before. The identification of cleaning spots, supporting organisations and people was also well planned. Each centre was visited multiple times by a group of Seva Bharati volunteers and held talks with the authorities of these hospitals, railway stations and bus stands. The cooperation of the authorities was key as local sanitary / health inspectors would be the persons who know the ground situation well. Each centre was surveyed and with this pre activity ground work, the data helped the organization to come to a conclusion of the number of volunteers required at each centre to complete the cleaning task with perfection. Centres were classified into four  categories : A+ = 2000; A = 1000; B = 500 and C = 300.

An in-charge for every centre was appointed who take care of coordinating with online registered participates, list of cleaning material and obtaining permission from authorities like health department, railways and the state transport authorities.

Several meetings were planned with educational Institutions and social service organizations. NSS Telangana too supported by pledging thousands of volunteers in the form of the student community to be part of the activity.

Several people supported and sponsored this activity by providing gloves,  face masks, T-Shirts, caps, badges, brooms and other things required for the task.

The drive was well supported by officials, volunteers, students, sanitary workers, suppliers, print and electronic media partners.
