To nail their lie and expose the CP(I)M-sponsored violence in Kerala under the patronage of the Left Front Government of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will be mobilising over 50,000 student activists across the country to converge in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of this southernmost state on November 11.

Addressing a press conference here ABVP national leader Shreehari Borikar and others said that the BAVP has given a clarion call of ‘Chalo Kerala’ and mobilised the student community to raise their voice of protest to denounce the Left-sponsored violence in the state targeted against the Hindutva activists.

Over 25000 students from all the districts of Kerala will be joining the equal number of students coming from other states of India and share their anguish with them. As a part of this mobilisation program, the ABVP had organised countrywide protests at district level on October 31 and submitted memorandum to the President of India, Borikar informed.

The ABVP activists have created an atmosphere by holding small meetings, through posters, pamphlets, signature campaigns etc. to reach to the maximum number of students, he said.

Students from far-off areas of Northeast and North India have already resumed their journey towards Kerala, the leaders informed.

Shreehari Borikar, who is All India In-charge of State Universities, informed the media persons that in the last 18 months over 18 persons in Kerala belonging to RSS and non-Communist ideology were barbarously murdered by the CPM activists and supporters. Among them, 14 were RSS, BJP and BMS activists. Among the victims of left violence, one is a woman while the other victims belonged to socially and economically marginalized sections of the society, he said.

He further said that during the past one year several cases of gruesome attacks against the ABVP workers were reported from various colleges in Kerala. He alleged that the CPM was explicitly and implicitly involved in these political murders.

Borikar further alleged that the present CPM government was shielding the culprits and even sponsoring the violence against their ideological opponents. The state government has failed to take any appropriate and effective action to punish the perpetrators of the violence or even initiate the legal action against them.

“There is a widespread concern among the relatives of the victims that the investigations are not conducted in proper manner. It is also worrying that the police are acting under the political pressure and CPM is reaping political gains through such misuse of state and political power”, he alleged.

Referring to State High Court observation the ABVP said that the Kerala High Court also has expressed its concern over the growing political killings in the state while considering a PIL filed in the HC vide no. WP(C) 32894 of 2017.

He stated that the epicentre of this violence is Kannur district the home district of the chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan who also holds the home portfolio. Ironically immediately after he assumed the office, multiple political murders and violence as well as attempts to murder the political and social activists increased, CPM activists were spreading this type of terror in all the colleges in Kerala, the ABVP leaders alleged saying that the CPM along with its sister organisations DIFY and SFI have been targeting the ABVP workers in the college campuses in the state.
