Alleging that a huge number of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis have settled in Hyderabad with the help of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party, BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy demanded that the TRS government make public the details of illegal immigrants in Telangana, especially in Hyderabad.
“Several colonies have come up in the city such as Barma Colony near Balapur Dargha on city outskirts. Many Rohinghyas and Bangladeshis have made permanent residences at places like Pahadishareef, Hafeezbaba Nagar, Kishan Bagh and other areas in Old City with support of the MIM. Old City has become a safe zone for them,” Kishan Reddy said at a press meet on Thursday.
He said many of the illegal immigrants have managed to get identity cards, Aadhaar cards and also passports. “A NonGovernmental Organization (NGO) COVA has been issuing identity cards to foreigners. In Visakhapatnam, a Bangladeshi was able to file nominations to contest in the election for mayor post. Rohingyas are not refugees but intruders,” Kishan Reddy said.
The BJP leader said the Rohingyas had come to India in huge numbers due to the previous Congress government. The latest Assam draft national registry states there are 40 lakh illegal immigrants in Assam, he said. Over two crore people have come to India and settled across the country. Even intruders are claiming rights that minorities have, he said.
